The Story Behind the Code: A Human-AI Collaboration

Now, here's something unique about Prépa TEF: the entire front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) that powers this tool was generated by an AI assistant (Google's Large Language Model).

My role? As a former TEF Canada test taker, an aspiring Technical Writer and Product Manager, I acted as the "product owner." I defined the problem, researched user needs (drawing on common TEF preparation challenges), specified the features, outlined the user flows, curated the French content (prompts, vocabulary, grammar explanations/exercises), and provided iterative feedback to the AI to refine the output until it met the requirements.

It was a fascinating experiment in leveraging modern AI tools, but more importantly, a practical exercise in the crucial skills of defining clear requirements, structuring information logically, and guiding development towards a user-centric goal – skills essential in both technical communication and product management.
